If I had heard of a Baylen, I would have assumed them to be a boy.
I hope this doesn't come off as rude, it wasn't meant that way at all! The name does have nice qualities.
Maybe consider the alternative Baylor? It would still sound like you're honoring Bayleigh, and a bit masculine, but I feel like it is a bit better than Baylen.

unusual name my mind immediately starts working out the spelling but I don't think most people do.
I think if you really like Baylen you should put it in the middle. It has the potential there to create some nice flow due to it's softness.

It is a little close to the two.. if you aren't super close to the cousins, I'd not worry. Like if you only see them occasionally I'd not worry, but if you live nearby and see each other very often it may be too close

I do think it's too close, but that's just my opinion. It's too close to Bayleigh if anything.
