I was watching Dexter and a new female character was introduced. Her name is Lumen Ann. I have never seen or heard of the name Lumen (Loo-min) before! Have you? What do you think of it? I think it's kind of pretty, maybe a name that will grow on me.

I think it has potential to be pretty, however, in the medical field a lumen is the part of an IV catheter that you give meds through...so I couldn't use it without automatically thinking of that.

Setting that aside, I do think the nickname Lu or Lulu would be adorable. :)

Honestly, I think straightaway of anatomy, where a lumen is the inside of a bodily tube, like the intestines and the "female tubes."  I also think of the unit of measurement...

It SOUNDS pretty, but I think the connotations make it unusable...just my opinion.
