I prefer Carrigan/Kerrigan to Carrington the -ton on the end signifies the name of a town to me.

I'm not crazy about it on either sex (and I know both a boy and a girl with this name). I don't hate it either, though, and I think it can be cute with the nn Carrie.

Sounds like a last name or town name to me. If anything, I would put it as a girls middle name... still, I really dislike it.
