Try Elizabeth nn Ella. I’m pretty sure Elizabeth is a saint. And she can still be called Ella.

The baby doesn’t HAVE to have a saint’s name to be baptized catholic. But if you want your daughter named after a saint i couldn’t find a saint ella-there’s a saint ellen but that’s as close as i got.

I like Elizabeth. My cousin is Sophia and she is Catholic. I doubt that Sophia is a saint but I may be wrong. IDK sorry!

I don’t think you could do Ella if you want her to have a saint’s name. You could do Elizabeth or Eleanor nn Ella. But, my mom’s name is Jennifer and she was baptized as Joanna (or something similar to her name). I don’t think you HAVE to have it be a saint’s name.

no she doesn’t have to be legally named after a saint, but you will have to give her a seperate name for the catholic church. my name is not a saint but they just made me choose another name for the church...best wishes ella is beautiful!

I don’t think this is the case anymore.

Talk to your priest, but I have a friend who is Catholic.

All their kids have been christened and their names are Elliean (goes by Ellie), Maggie, and Jay.

No other names were involved.
