Ia vs. Aea

Pronounced EYE-ah. I like Ia, but my husband thinks it’s too short, so what do you think of Aea? Does it go with our last name, Bennett? We also have a four year-old named Rhea-Anne. Thanks!

Never heard this name before, but its cute! I like Ia, but I agree that it’s too short. What about Iya? Its slightly longer. Do you need middle name suggestions?

Aiyah is cute, and looks more like it is pronounced.

Ayia looks like ah-EE-ah. I think Aea is nice. It sounds pretty. A long middle name would go well with it. Aea Elizabeth maybe.

Aya, like Maya. I think more people will be able to pronounce and spell it this way. It is more phonetic. I think it looks prettiest too.

Aya Bennett

Aia could be another spelling. Aea is better than Ia imo. Aia Grace is a nice combo.

Sounds like someone is saying "Hi-ya Bennett" like a greeting to someone named Bennett. A little strange to me, but not bad. Maybe use it as a middle name.

Thanks for all the comments! Yes, middle name suggestions are welcome. I like Aia, but Aiyah to me looks convoluted and messy. Keep the suggestions coming!

Aia looks like a-ee-a to me.

I like Aya because it better expresses the pronunciation you want.

I would spell it Aiya.like the beginning of Aiyanna

Thanks for the suggestions, but Aiya looks like ’ah-EE-ah’ or ’AH-ee-ah’ to me. Aya looks ok, I guess, but I really don’t like y’s in names. I like Aia, but I’m still drawn to Aea. What do you think of Aia/Aea Rose or Aia/Aea Leigh?

Aya for sure!!!

Aya looks like ’EH-ah’ like the way Canadians say ’eh?’
Aia is the prettiest imo, though Aea will probably get the pronunciation across better. I like Aia Leigh Bennett. Its so cute and it goes well with Rhea Anne.

I like the way this name sounds, but I’m wondering if another spelling could be found that’s less confusing on the pronouciation than Aea and has a bit more substance than IA. My daughter’s name is Eila (pronounced Eye-la). Could you spell it similarly like this: Eia? IMO, beginning the name with the letter "A" will make people pronounce it with an "Ay" sound no matter what. Before you pick a spelling, have some people read it and pronounce with out knowing what your intended pronouncement is. I like the middle name Rose. My daughter’s name is Eila Jane and I think the short middle name is nice with a first name like that.

It doesn’t look like a name either way you spell it + it sounds a bit off when you say it with Rhea. What about Isla? (eye-la) that would really look/sound cute with Rhea.
