Alaina vs. Elaina
We can’t decide which spelling to go with. Elena is out -- DH doesn’t like that version. We plan on using the nickname Lainey. Our son’s name starts with E -- but we don’t need to stick with E’s. It would be pronounced Uh-lane-uh

imo, Elaina looks so much prettier. Alaina looks misspelled, like Alivia or something. Elaina is like Elaine, but with an a, which is what you’re going for, so that’s how I’d spell it.

I like it spelled Alaina. Very pretty name! The nn Lainey is very cute too but I like how she will have a full name too for when she gets older. Perfect choice! GL!
To keep the pn you are going for, I would spell it Alaina. The little girl I know whose name is Elaina pn it ee-lane-uh, so I have a hard time saying this spelling the way you are saying it. Great name, btw!

My daughter is Elaina and we pronounce it the same way you want to. We call her Lainey, too. I love it! We are expecting a little boy and plan on calling him Ethan.

I would go with the traditional spelling of Elaina. It looks so much classier than Alaina. It is so pretty and so underused. GL!

I would go with the E or name her Alana, and pronounce it Like Banana with an A. One of the most classy, beautiful, smart girls I ever met has this name. I like Elaina though, the A is confusing.

I’ve said this before on other polls - but Elaina and Alaina are two different names with two different meanings (if the meanings mean anything to you). Elaina is a version of Helen and Alaina is a version of Alanna. Elaina is (typically) pronounced Ee-lane-uh and Alaina is pronounced Uh-lane-uh. I personally like Alaina the best, and am planning on naming my daughter that.
