i think everyone will just pronounce it ritch-ard anyway, but you could call him Ric, Rick, Ricky, Rich, Char. I also like Chad a lot.

I think pronouncing that way in school he could get teased and called Ree-Shard the retard. I like the nn Ric or Ricky.

I agree with pp the way you are going to say it sounds like retard! Just say Richard the way you are supposed to. Dick is another nn for Richard but I would stay away from that as well.

lol Shard? In a movie I recently watched to Shard was to fart and Sh*t at the same time...I know that is really immature but it was a pretty popular movie and I have heard the term shard alot since from college age guys....Ree Shard is a bad idea!
