Love the name vs. Naomi

I love the name Naomi, and I love the meaning. I am afraid that people will tease her because her name will spell "I moan" backwards. I never thought of it like that until someone said it. How do you feel about it?

I think it is a very nice name and I doubt kids will even realize what it spells backwards. I didn’t know until now!

Don’t stop because of the thought that she might be teased. When I was younger (My name is Marta) kids used to say Mar-DUH or Farta... every name is able to be made fun of. Naomi is a beautiful name!

My grandmas name is Naomi and I don’t think anyone in our family actually ever noticed it is Imoan. I like the name but if you don’t want her to get teased try the name Noemi.

I think it’s a beautiful name with a great meaning and that trumps the i moan thing. If you look really hard, you can find something to tease about for every name. It is what it is.

I also thik Naomi is a beautiful name. I wouldn’t let the backwards thing stop you. It might come up on a rare occasion i.e. my kids just went to a "backwards birthday party." I didn’t realize until then that my dtrs name backwards is nag ’em! I wouldn’t change her name just because of this! I have never heard anyone make a big deal out of the name Megan and what it spells backwards.
