Adopting a vs. two year vs. old

Well everyone I need your help! Me and my husband had been trying for a baby for almost 8 years after we realized that are wish for one wasn’t going to come true we decided to adopt. We are so happy to say that we are going to be the parents of a beautiful little girl. She will be turning two in September and we wanted to know if you think changing her name is a good idea. If you do what names do you think would work?? Her name right now is Kyle but we think it is a little to boyish and we dont like it much. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them!! Thanks so much Kristi and James.

If you really don’t like her name, she’s still little enough to change it. Your childs name should sound like a song for you, it’s necessary, you will repeat it so many times. What style of names do you like?

My girls name is Carley Blythe. These ones I think are really feminine:

Emmeline
Amelia
Melanie
Camille/Camilla
Alice
Christiana/Christianne
Dahlia
Marlene
Angeline
Coralie
Jasmine
Marianne
Leilani
Aimee
Wendy
Malena

like any?

A two-year old is old enough to know her name. I understand disliking the name Kyle, but how about something similar? Kylee or Kyla would be 2 great options. Kylee Amelia would be cute.

Carley Alice is really cute and feminine :) The other I like is Alice Vivian.

Camilla would be good as it have a pronounciation near to her actual name but is much more girlish.
Camilla Kaye
Camilla Ruby
Camilla Jodie
Camilla Teagan
Camilla Mae
Camilla Susan
Camilla Janae
Camilla Jade

Amelia Kate
Amelia Nicole
Amelia Faith
Amelia Bailey
Amelia Jolene
Amelia Darlene

I agree with one of the above comments. This will probably be a very confusing time for your newest addition. I think you should change it to Kylee, Kyla, or Kya. That’s something familiar to her that may be comforting for her to hold on to.

I agree, don’t change it too much. Kylie or Kyla or Skyla, or Kayla is beautiful

Kids that age are so resilient, so if you do change her name she’ll adjust to it. I think Kylie or Kyla is a good suggestion. Or you could use Kyle as her middle name and call her by her first and middle names for a while so she gets used to her new name. Like Anna Kyle (or whatever first name you like)...you could call her Anna Kyle, and then phase out Kyle and just call her Anna, that way she’ll slowly get used to her name change. What do you think?

My son will be 2 in August. He knows his name very well. I think that Kyla is a great suggestion. Or the slow transition. GL and congrats!!

I also agree that you should change it to something very similiar. When we adopted our 22 month old daughter her name was Niki Brittnie and we changed it to Nicole Bridget.
