I personally like Asher a lot, however it is far far from unique... it is actually becoming VERY popular. So although I like it if you are going for unique I think it should be crossed off of your list immediately. I believe it was actually ranked as nu,ner 106 in the top 100 baby names yb the SSA, but I could be wrong, wither way it is for sure in the top 200 most common names.
Whats about; Dayton, Cason, Tyce, eid, Kane, Kyler, Kyan, Myan, Wylie, Koda, Keegan, Tieran, Zion, Zane, Keir, Paxon, Paxton, Keoni, these are all uncommon unique trentsy names (IMO) but not weird or made up... like any of these?

I’m just having trouble with boys names...everything sounds "just not right" to me. I don’t want something that every kid in school will have, like Aiden. But something that is semi-popular would be alright.

I love the name Asher, as far as popularity I think it depends on where you live. Where I live it is unique don’t know anyone with that name.

I think if it’s outside the Top 100, it’s hard to call it common. Trendy, yes, as it’s growing in popularity and is the "style" of the times, but hardly common. I say go for it.
