Luke Matthew vs. Lucas Matthew

Not matter if we name him Lucas or Luke, he will probably always go by Luke. So should we just name him Luke or give him the full name of Lucas?

I am a big fan of naming a child what he or she will be called, so I vote Luke Matthew. I think it flows well, also. Luke Matthew Rowe is very nice.

I would go with Lucas, because he would grow into it when he becomes an adult. Luke is a fine nick name but not a full name, and anyway if you name him Lucas you can always call him Luke. But I like both names.

I don’t think it is always good to name a child what they’ll be called...I would be Sweetpea!

I am not talking about if they are going to be called something like "sweetpea" or pet names. I mean their given name. Nicknames just aren’t my style. I know a child named Gregory Andrew, and you know what he goes by. Not Gregory or Andrew, and not even Greg. He goes by Drew. Poor kid gets called Gregory for the first couple of days of school, and everything he fill out has to have "Drew" after writing out his sort of long name. It is just a hassle for him. That is all I was saying.

I think what ever you choose you can’t go wrong with. Both names are adorable and I picture a little blond hair, blue eyed little boy. Congrats and Good Luck!

Lucas Scott is the name of a character on the TV show One Tree Hill. Go with Lucas Matthew.

Lucas Scott Rowe is a bit too harsh sounding for me. Lucas Matthew flows a lot better. And definately Lucas, not Luke, for a full name.

I agree, Lucas Matthew is cute and sophisticated-sounding, and it goes together much better than Lucas Scott.
