Maiko vs. Sakura vs. Midori

We would like to use a Japanese name, but one that will work well in America. What do you think of these? Maiko I thought would be familiar to Americans, it means dancing girl, and is also the term used for an apprentice geisha. Sakura means cherry blossom, and Midori means green, although I understand there is a liquor sold here by the same name.

I think that Midori would be the best out of the choices, honestly. It would be the easiest to pronounce out of all of them. Also, Sakura is a popular television character’s name, so I don’t think that would be such a great idea here. Maiko would be my second choice. Good Luck!

I like Sakura. Midori is nice but I immediately thought of Midori sours, so thats no good. Maiko...is it pronounced make-o? If so, it reminds me of the shark. Also, I don’t know if the whole aspiring-geisha thing is necessarily a positive, it wouldn’t be for me. I think Sakura works the best. GL!!
