Brecken vs. WDYT?
I have had mixed feedback on the boy name Brecken. WDYT of this name? I like different names and work in a school where I know all of the children and do not want a duplicate name. Thanks for your feedback!

I think its okay. It sounds a little trendy for my liking but its really not a bad name. If you like it you should go for it!

I think Breckin, or Brecken, would be too similar to Brooklinn.
Are you open to other rare names for boys?
My son’s name is Race, and I love it.
We frequently get compliments on his name. But you can kind of tell who means it and who doesn’t. Generally speaking, people 45+- and under say, "Oh, that’s cool!" and mean it. Generally speaking, people 45+- and older say, "Oh. That’s nice" and don’t mean it. ;)

I do like many other rare names, but my husband is very picky and traditional. I think he is set on the name Breckin. The other names I really like are Turner, Easton, Holden, Oakley, Lawson, Griffin. I do like the name Race -- maybe he would go for that since he is a race fan.

Generally people like my son’s name, a few people have told me they don’t like it. My husband and I met at Breckenridge Ski Resort so it was special to us. If you like it I would tell you to use it. Nobody will ever be satisfied with the name you choose anyway.

I have a little cousin (girl) named Breckyn. I would definitely spell it Brecken for a boy. Breckin looks feminine.
