Baby Girl vs. Name vs. Help

Hi, Everyone! My husband and I are expecting a baby girl in August. A name that keeps resurfacing is Stella. We are wondering if it’s one of those names that can stand alone, or if it’s more of a nickname. Also, what is everyone’s general opinion on the name? We tend to lean towards elegant, classy sounding names and I’m wondering if this one fits that bill or not. Let me know what you all think. Please be honest. We will not be offended. Sorry, but I intensely dislike the name Stella. It is very harsh sounding to me.

I love the name Stella and it definately has that classic elegant feel to it. I would go with it. Especially since it isnt very popular right now.

I don’t care for it. It sounds kinda older fashioned, and stuffy (no offense!). I’ve heard Estella as a longer version...It does sound kinda elegant, maybe classic. I don’t know.

Stella could stand on it’s own then Ella could be a nickname from that

I personally don’t like Stella as a name but it really is up to you and your own personal preference I think that if that name keeps coming up then maybe it’s meant to be. You have to do what makes you happy. Also its an uncommon name

I think Stella is a beautiful name. Ella is nice too, but it just doesn’t have the same effect as Stella. Some others you might like:::
