My husband and I have decided on Vincent Joseph for our son. Are there any other nicknames for Vincent other than Vinny and Vince? Thanks!

I couldn’t think of any more nicknames for Vincent so I looked it up on Google and found these--there are no more.

Vince
Vin
Vinny

Hope this helps, ~Rachel
PS: You could just call him Vincent, but I like the nickname Vince. :-) Do you?

Yeah, VJ would be another good one! ;-)
I like Vincent, Vin, Vince, and VJ, but not Vinny.

Thanks everyone, I don’t really like Vince, but I do like Vin, so I guess I will stick to Vin or just call him Vincent. On the other hand my Husband likes Vince, so he will call him that.

Okay. :-) That’s good. So how about VJ? I REALLY don’t like Vinny.

Hey--I have an idea. How about calling him V-Joe? When you want to encourage him, you could say "Go, V-Joe!" How about it?!?

I don’t like Vinny either, we like Vincent with the NN Vin or Vince. VJ is alright.

That is cute V-joe, Daddy’s name is Joe.

V-joe is too cutesy/weird, I wouldn’t do that. Vince is definitely the best nn. Strong and masculine and not bad sounding or cutesy sounding.

Don’t call him VJ...that is becoming slang for [removed] .....vee jay jay.....remember.....from Grey’s Anatomy...

Why are you namimg him Vincent? It doesn’t seem like you really like the name. I know a boy named Vincent, nn Trey.

We have a Gavin and his dad calls him Big-G. and he loves it, they even call him that at pre-school. So Big-V. sounds cool.

Apparently Jimmy was a NN for Italian Americans named Vincent in the 1950s.

My name is Vincent and I’m 89 years old. As a boy I was called Vincie by family and friends until I reached high school, then Vinnie was more widely used. Later it became Vince but for brevity, Vin was occasionally chosen. As an adult Vince was used 99% of the time.

Neither Wikipedia nor any of your commenters
has mentioned Vincie, yet I like it best of all for a baby and young lad, because it really sounds like a genuine "nickname".

My grandfather's name was Vincenzo. He was born in Naples, Italy. He was a steam fitter and his coworkers called him Jimmy. I never knew why, but thanks to this blog and some research, I know why. By the way, I don't appreciate the anti-southern Italian sentiment posted by one person. I was named after him, but unfortunately, my parents named me Vincent. I would have preferred Vincenzo. I would go by Enzo as an adult. Preferred baby name is not to name your child Vincent. I have never liked my name and wish my parents had gone with something else. I loved my grandfather and would have much preferred his actual name than the Americanization of it. I was known as Vincent and Vin as a child, but I go by Vince now. I find it's much easier at work. My wife calls me Vin, which is my preference.

My name is Vincent but my family calls me Jimmy. My parents never told me my true name. So my first day in school the teacher called attendance. When she called out Vincent I didn't know she was talking to me. I told her my name was Jimmy. She told me my name was Vincent. I cried. I was so angry at my parents.
