I really used to like Avery for a boy and still do, however I only know little girls with this name now.

Avery is one of the few names that is truly unisex to me. I like it equally for a girl or for a boy.

In the US, it is used more for girls, but it still frequently used for boys as well. It was the 38th most popular name here for a girl last year, and the 216th most popular name for a boy.

For a girl, maybe...

Avery Brooke
Avery Brynn
Avery Camille
Avery Elise
Avery Elizabeth

For a boy, maybe...

Avery Alexander
Avery Matthew
Avery Michael
Avery Patrick
Avery Stephen

I really like Avery Hayden for a boy, but since both names are used for both sexes these days, I wouldn’t use it.

Is a boys name. I don’t see anything pretty or femimne about it at all. It’s a name the girls need to leave for the boys. Names like Madison, Addison those should belong to the girls because they sound like girl names. Madison means son of Maude and Maude is a girls name so it is really unisex because it also means son of Matthew. That being said I’m not sure why it’s spelled with a D it should be Madison it looks more masculine. And Addison who calls a boy Addy? I mean come on!

Leave it for the boys, it’s a very handsome name!

Ok, thanks everyone! My friend wants to name her son Avery, I was just wondering if people thought it was girly or masculine.

I like it best for a boy, but it is kinda cute for a girl. I just hope it doesn’t become an exclusively girl name!
