Unusual vs. Name

Hi there, we are expecting our fourth child in September and are stuck for a name, we don’t know the sex of the baby but all of our other kids names are fairly out there so it needs to be something that matches our bohemian tendencies. Our childrens’ names often spark debate but they all love them so far and enjoy being the only people they know with those names. Our eldest son is Cuba Dawson, then we have twin girls called Rainbow Angel and Sparkle Bailey. I like the names Diesel and River for a boy and Pixie and Mab(as in Queen of the Fairies) for a girl. Any names welcome.

I worked with a girl named Sparkle and kinda liked it. I dont know about the rainbow thing though. I really like River and the suggestions of Meadow, Story, winter, autumn, Lyric(boy), and ridge

Hi there, thanks, I can see why you may not like the idea of them and that is fine, the world would be a boring place if we all agreed:) If it helps our kids are all very outgoing and we believe suit their names. Not sure about Glitter and Sparkle together though! Rainbow tends to be called Bo but I think Rainbow and Meadow together is too much. Quite like Lyric though

by the way I really like Cuba.... you could also go with Havana for a girl.... I hesitate to suggest this but since the other names are out there I think that Shimmer would fit right in.

Thanks, yeah I like Havana but we don’t want the names to be too cliched (I know that seems rich when they are outthere anyway! but we don’t really want ’theme’ as such. I’m glad you like Cuba though and glad you on the same page for suggesting unusual names :)
I really like the name Heaven and Heath is one I hadn’t thought about but I do like it.

Oh my gosh I cannot believe this is a real poll. Cuba is a fine name for a boy but Rainbow and Sparkle? Are you kidding me? Those are just ridiculous. When filling out a job application or applying to college they are going to have to use those names. They are not professional at all. I just hope they have normal middle names they can go by if they so choose. I know you asked for help naming your 4th child but I refuse to believe this is a real poll!

As I said, everybody is entitled to their opinion. I think that their names empower them and if they ever said that they were unhappy we would definitely look into changing them. As it happens, my name Star has always meant I stood out on things like job applications etc as opposed to being forgotten in the crowd. Thanks for those who have suggested names for us and I will let you know what we decide
