Just vs. For vs. Fun

Do you have older children? Today my 6 year old daughter informed me that she plans to have 6 children when she "grows up." Then she told me they would be: Winter, Kimberly, Allie, Lily, Brandon, and Brian. If you want to, ask your kids how many children they would like to have and what they would name them. It will be interesting to see their replies! Don’t forget to post their ages--we can see how they are thinking. I hope people reply.

I just asked my 7 year old and she said she wants four children, all boys, with the names Patrick, Landon, Blake and Gabriel. Gabriel is after her one friend in play group because he "has a very nice head" lol

How cute! Your 7yr old has good taste!

This is a cute idea! I asked my 4 year old, Hannah. She will be having 3 girls (just like mommy) and she will name them Cadance (her cousin’s name), Lillie (her best friend), and Julie (my sister, her aunt). Interesting that she would pick names of people that she knows, but I guess at 4 what other names are you going to know!!

She has pretty good taste for a 4yr old. I got pregnant with my son when my daughter was 4, and she suggested we name him Lightening McQueen!

My daughter is 17 and likes the names Sophia, Ava, Isabella, Giana for girls and Nikolai, Elijah, Adam, Daniel for boys. She plans on having four kids. My son, 14, wants to name his kids Milica & Mirko (Family Tradition on Mirko, and Milica is also a family name)

I just asked my 2 year old son and he said "Um...2" then he proceded to tell me that their names will be Thomas (like the train) and Nemo. LOL!!!

my daughter (14) wants 5 children and their names will be boys: Austin, Elijah, Forrest, Hudson, and Jesse or girls: Abigail, Morgan, Emma, Sierra and Lauren

My son (3) has informed me that he would like his brother to be named Optimus Prime. I’m really surprised that he didn’t choose Ricky Bobby, though. He looooves Talladega Nights.

Gotta love Thomas and Nemo! The older children are picking great names as well! It is neat that a 14 year old boy will use family tradition. I didn’t realize teenage boys even thought of that sort of thing!

My five year old Mia would have two kids, a boy and a girl. A girl named Belle (she’s a big Beauty and the Best fan) and a boy named Coby (her father’s nn)

I just asked my 17 yr. old, and he said he wants two, a girl and a boy. Alice Elizabeth Ann for a girl, and Cooper Douglas Allen for a boy. Two middle names are a tradition in our family.

Its great that kids are using parent’s names and traditions! I love the way they think!

I agree!

I think its sad that all of your children are picking better names than most of the adults on this website!!! Including Lightning and Optimus! haha

People on this website pick crazy made up and ridiculous names for their children, yet your children come up with beautiful names!

At least there is hope for future generations :)
posted by paigeb :: 14 years ago | report
Just curious Paigeb--how many would you have, and what would you name them? Any other teens are welcome to answer, too!
posted by poster :: 14 years ago | report
Paigeb--whom do you think are answering the poll, but the parents who are posting other polls?? You may offend someone by what you said.....
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
Its ok if I offend someone that is giving their child a ridiculous name!

If one of these parents is planning to name their child something crazy then they should listen to their children who are using real names!

I am not a teen, I am a grown, married woman who is currently trying to conceive, but I don’t have any other children...thanks!

It is not okay if you offend someone, their choice in names differ from your choice in names, that is what makes the world go round. I’m sorry, but you seem like a very rude and mean person.
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
No, it’s not okay if you offend someone! It’s rude!
posted by guest :: 14 years ago | report
I am sorry--for some reason I thought you were a teen. I agree with you about some of the names on here lately--I just didn’t want anyone to get offended. You don’t sound like a teen or anything, I just thought I remembered you saying you were a teen. Good luck with having a baby!

PaigeB-you are right!

I was not trying to be rude, but as a school teacher I see the torment on the children who have "different and unique" names, as you call them. What I meant was that it does not upset me if you are offended, people have opinions and they are different, so there is no need to get offended.

I am actually a very nice person and I did not make my comment to offend anyone, I commented because I think it is great that your children are using good judgment and picking good names, I am pleased that in 20 years children will have normal names again!

Okay--anyone else have children with ideas? The poll sort of got off topic. I really just wanted this to be a fun way to find out how your kids are thinking, not to cause an argument. If you would like to argue with Paigeb, or anyone else, please pick another poll. Thanks!

I’m 18 and would like somewhere in the range of three to five kids, and I would like to adopt some as well as have some. I like the names Leah, Abigail, Evelyn, Rebecca, and Anna for girls and Elijah, Andrew, Daniel (which unfortunately is my brother’s name, so I guess I’ll have to use it for a mn), Jonah, and Adam for boys.

Great names 25th poster! Love the nn’s as well.
posted by poster :: 14 years ago | report
You have great names too, 27th poster! Love that they are mostly Biblical. My kids have Biblical names as well.

Thank you =) I love all of those names and have for awhile =)

Thanks from me too! I hope I get to start using them in a few years!

Haha! This is cute.
I have 5 sons: Braiden-15, Connor & Caleb-12, Dillon-9, Tyler-5, and now that I’m expecting my first daughter they all have different opinions. Tyler knows that Bella means beautiful, so Tyler chose Bella. Dillon’s "Girlfriends" name is Amelia Grace nn Amelie, so he voted for Emilie (He thought it would be too confusing if his sister and gf had the same name). Caleb chose Elizabeth (Mommys Name!) & Connor chose Sam (Daddys name is Samuel). And Braiden likes Emma and Ella.
I love my kids so much, things like this bring me to tears! Haha but when Ty mentioned why he liked Bella, I did tear up just a bit!

My children wanted to name our soon to be child Scooby Doo. It called for an interesting discussion. But my daughter Justine wanted to name the baby Justine. When I asked her why she said "That way I’ll have a twin, mommy."

Awww! I love this! I was afraid people would think it was silly, but now I am glad I went for it. My daughter has been saying she wanted 6 kids for a long time, and I have just always told her she was crazy--jokingly, or course. Today, though, I actually listened to her, and she has some pretty cute ideas--not sure how Winter came into the mix, though. I sort of hope she can have 6 kids, now. I don’t think we will have more, even though I would love to. My pregnancies were not that easy, so we are a little afraid to try again. Keep commenting! Thanks!!

That is so cute that your daughter wanted to name her sister the same name so she could have a twin! I always wanted a twin when I was little. I guess kids don’t realize that you have to be born at the same time to be twins!
posted by poster :: 14 years ago | report
I will be sixteen soon(not pregnant)
For a girl I have always like Payton Olivia, and for a boy Carson Lucas or Chase James.
I want one or two kids. I want atleast one girl. If one is a boy it will probably be Carson.
I like alot of other girl names but i cant put a first and middle together that i like besides for Payton Olivia.
