Is there a nice way to tell her vs. or should I just mind my own business

My sister is pregnant with her second child, a little boy. We are so happy for her but I have a problem with her name choice. She has a 3 year old named Rylie Makenna and she is dead set on naming this little boy Ryan Garrett. Am I the only one that thinks Rylie and Ryan are too close? Please help me. Amber

For the sake of the child, I’d bring this to her attention, just politely. Maybe mention it casually.

I also think they’re close, but you know your sister better than us so what do you think? Do you think she’ll change her mind before the birth? Will she be mad @ you for saying (essentially) she’s wrong about her name choice?
If my (older) sister said this to me, I’d be ticked--but we have a strained relationship. If we were closer, maybe I’d welcome the input...like I said, you have an idea on how she’d react.

We are very close and our little girls are too. I think she would be upset with me but she would think about what I had to say. I was really wondering if other people thought the same way I do.

Rylie and Ryan sound totally different to me... well except for the ry... They sound just fine, id leave it alone... and even if it was terrible i think id still leave it be. they are her children and it is up to the parents to make those calls. Only way i would interfer is if they picked a name that would scar the child for life... pilot inspekor for example.

You can mention this politely (perhaps ask her if she thinks the names might be too similar thus putting it in her court). If she is still dead set on Ryan, then at least you have said your peace.

The names are very similar but at least they are both good names.
