James Patrick vs. Seamus William
We have one son, James Patrick Truman - 2 and are pregnant with our second son. We really love the name Seamus, which is the Irish version of James. To us, the two names are completely different, but have a common meaning. We need to know what others think about have two sons, James and Seamus. Are they too similar???

I don’t feel they are too similar. Most people would not know that Seamus is the irish version of James. However, I would not used the name because your poor son would be teased about "semen" all his school life.

i don’t think people know seamus is james, sheena is jane, susannah is lily, or kennedy is "ugly head" -- no one will notice but you and maybe a name geek.

Come on you guys, it doesn’t rhyme with semen...Seamus is pronounced shaymus. I don’t think its a big deal that they are variations of the same name, they are still very different. They might think it’s cool to have the connection.
