Waverly is a boys name, it was popular back in the early 1900’s. The only Waverly’s I know are older men.

I really like this for a girl. A little different without being too out there. To the first poster’s point - why does she need a nickname? I purposely chose a name for my child that could not be easily made into a cutesy nickname that she’ll never be able to shake.

I loooove the name Waverly.
My understanding was that it was a girls’ name meaning something like Meadow.
At any rate, I’m not a fan of using boys’ names on girls, but in this case, we’re talking about a name basically no one has heard of, that hasn’t been popular for 100 years.
I also know of at least one little girl named Waverly, and she’s a doll!
At any rate, I just love it.
Crazy that people on this site like ridiculous inventions like Blakesly, but turn their noses up at an actual name!
Use it!

I don’t like Waverly, I think its not feminine at all! I don’t really like it for a boy either.
And for the record, pp, I don’t like Blakesly or any other inventions on here either!

I love the name Waverly I think it is more of a girls name. I don’t think it matters if its a boy or girls name. Boys have names like Kelly and Girls have names like Jaimie and Ryan. The name Waverly is unique and cute.
