If you want to honor your dad u could do any A first name. with Stephen for the mn.

Arthur would be my vote, the others are way dated names and would probably be picked on as the child gets older.

You could always just name your child Stephen (insert the babys fathers name)

I honestly really like Stephen Avner as it is, and you would be honoring his full name. I think Stephen is a better fn than any of your other options. GL

Thanks all for being honest. Abner and Avner are fine because he’s growing up in a Jewish environment where the names are the norm. Kids will find anything to tease a child about no matter what there name so I’m not really worried about it. The names are strong and masculine (not like there feminine sounding:) I don’t care for Alva or Alvin and I have a cousi Alan (sorry Hannah and thanks:)

I like Alexander and Aaron guest but would like these names for now. Thanks!
