Pangea vs. ??

Hey! My husband is a evolutionary scientist and this has to do with how we met. Now we are having our first child together, a girl. Does this name work? Any middle name suggestions? Right now we really like Pangea Hope.

If you don’t like the name, could you please give me some comparable suggestions? Topanga was a nice idea, it just didn’t thrill me. This will probably be our only child and I want to love the name and make it meaningful!

How about Soleil....It’s means Sun in French.

I agree with the 4th poster you should probably go with topanga, because honestly I can’t think of anything else thats similar. If you don’t like topanga just pick a totally different name because pangea doesn’t work at all.

I would continue to look for something that is meaningful to both you and your husband. Maybe a place or month.

Ok, beacuse of the feedback, we have decided to regroup and consider other names. Could we use Pangea as a middle name?

It would definitely be much better suited as a mn.

I hate to be rude but Pangea is a horrible name. Think about it, your daughter is going to live with this name for the rest of her life. I agree with the previous poster...think of other meaningful things that you and your husband share...A special month..place..city..etc.

Thanks for the constructive critism. One of the most meaningful cities to us is Detroit, which will not work as a name. It will take some brainstorming.

Pangea is a beautiful name IMO. If you both love it, go for it! All the people close to her will get used to it and come to love it too.

I really dislike it. I agree that maybe you should choose something else that has meaning I really like the name HOPE as well as Faith and Grace :)

If evolutionary science is important to the both of you, is there a woman evolutionist who you could name her after? Or is there a woman close to Darwin (wife, daughter, etc.) that you could name her after?

I love it. I’m considering the name as well. I think I will spell it Pangaea though. I love the symbolism of it. What did you decide on?
