Italian Baby vs. Names

Hi, I am 18 years old and I am expecting a baby with an Italian guy that I met while working as an Au Pair in Italy. I have Italian roots also and the father of the baby is Italian so I would like to give the baby an Italian name. The family name will also be Italian. The baby was of course not planned, but we decided to keep it and I will probably go live in Italy in the near future so we can be together as a family and I would like to study over there. I don’t know the sex of the baby yet. Thanks!

I have always liked Giovanni for a boy. Or Giuseppe. I come from a large Italian family and these are some of their names...

I like Alessandra for a gril and Mia. For a boy, I also like Giuseppe, but I am not sure on a baby.

are my favorites for now but I would like more ideas and opinions on all of these names.

off of your list of favorites, I like Mia, Elena, and Laura because they give it the Italian flavor without slamming you over the head with it. Same with Leonardo. If you plan to live in Italy though, I would suggest finding the list of most popular names in Italy and picking something that will fit over there.

I’ve always loved Gianna for a girl and Giovanni for a boy. Other good names are Isabella and Charlize.
