Jana is a form of John meaning God is gracious so I would say yes it has Biblical roots.

It is not directly from the Bible but it is a form of John. Like Lillian is not from the Bible directly but from the name Elizabeth which is.

Jean isn’t said John but it’s a form of it
Joan isn’t said John but it’s a form of it
Ivan isn’t said John but it’s a form of it
Ian isn’t said John but it’s a form of it
get my drift there are many names Vania, Iva, ext that are forms of John and non are said like John.
There are two ways to pronounce Jan Yahn and Janne depends on were your from. In the states the most common is JAN-uh.
