Love Eleanor and Sylvia...I voted for Eleanor I like the nicknames better.

Love Sylvia and you never hear it. I’ve never cared for Eleanor and Kathleen seems a bit dated.

I love Kathleen its very beautiful and its not dated in my opinion because I know a little girl named Kathleen with the nn Kathy but its still a very uncommon name !

Kathleen Grace is my favorite BY FAR!! Both Sylvia and Eleanor remind me of little old ladies, no offence. I just can’t picture them on anyone younger than 70. I love all of the middle names, though. Kathleen Grace is a fantastic name :)

There are tons of Eleanors and Sylvia’s who are little girls just open your eyes! anyhow Sylvia Kate sounds most elegant in my opinion!

Well I guess those names (Sylvia and Eleanor) are more popular in different parts of the world. Where I live, there aren’t any that are young (under 40). I still love Kathleen Grace the best

Nixy, you really should stop talking out of your rear. Unless you’re not in the US Sylvia is in the 500s popularity-wise and Eleanor around the 250s. That means there are NOT "tons of Eleanors and Sylvia’s who are little girls"

I do know some little Eleanors, but they are mostly called Ella or Ellie-I also know a lot of girls just named Ella, so if you’re planning on using nns, I’d rule out Eleanor, strictly based on popularity.

Other than that, I really can’t choose.
Kathleen is one of my favorites ever. So timeless and fresh!
But, I also love Sylvia, especially the nn Sylvie.
I can see how it could get popular, but at this point I’ve yet to meet a single one.

I guess your best overall bet for timeless and not common is Kathleen, unless you’re planning on calling her Kate or Katie, which are both very popular.

If that’s the plan, then I guess I’d switch to Sylvia.

Been teaching a lot of years and have never had a Sylvia or Eleanor...I agree, they sound old fashioned.

Kathleen Grace is my favorite. Such a pretty name and has lots of great nn options. :)
