Mackenzie is a beautiful name, i watched that opera to, and i never even would of remembered that womans name untill u mentioned it..i would name my daughter Mackenzie still..

funny..i only picture mackenzie phillips when i think of mackenzie.

she is the origin of the name.

i could not use it after the oprah interview.

I read about that, but it still wouldn’t stop me from using the name. News will come and go, people will forget about that by next week. I think it’s a beautiful name, and I don’t associate it with Mackenzie Phillips.

I’d say if your planning on naming your daughter Mackenzie.... I wouldn’t do it for atleast a yr after this mess..... BLAH!!!!!! That is the LAST thing you want to be thinking about when looking at your beautiful baby.

i don’t know how to write a post about it but i will try--there the R word and the I word regarding what her father did to her. also the A word regarding the resulting baby.

I love the name and don’t think it is ruined at all. I saw that Oprah and completely forgot about it by the time you mentioned it. However, if it really bothers you, then I wouldn’t use it, since you don’t want to look at your baby and think about that girl. GL!

If you know that the name Mackenzie will bother you because of Mackenzie Phillips--hopefully that Oprah show will be long forgotten--why not consider these for pretty alternatives:

McKenna or Mackenna
McKinley or Mackinley
McKayla***LOVE that name!!
