Unfortunately it sounds like "failing." Do you like Kaylin or Jaylin?

I agree, it sounds like failing. "Are you failin math?"

I’m not sure of it either...I love the meaning of the name. I always loved the name Fiona. I am not usually a fan of adding "lin" or "lyn" to any name. But, I saw this one and I wondered more about it. I love the nickname Fay! I thought that would be adorable on a little girl. Anyway, thanks for your ideas. If you have anymore comments, please feel free to post them!!! Thanks.

I was looking for how to pronounce it - and didn’t find one. I was thinking it would be a long "a" sound like
(fAE lynn)??

That’s why I’m asking you, name genie fans!!! Thanks.

I didn’t get the "failing" association when I saw your poll, rather, I see it as almost 2 names smooshed together: Fay-Linn.

On that note, I like it, and I think you could even go with the spelling you have above, Faelynn, even though you intended it to be for pronunciation!

Um...my 19 year old daughter is called Faylinn. It is an Irish name yes but doesn’t mean ’fair rose’ at all. It means ’little wolf’ and is the modern equivelant of the 10th century male Faolan, who also was a king of Cashel. My daughter loves her name and has never been bullied for it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felan
