Blair/e sounds boyish, not pretty and cute at all and I’ve never even met anyone with that name as their first name, only as their last name.

I love Blair as a fn for a girl! It’s very pretty and feminine imo. It also sounds strong and confident. Blair was a female character on Facts of Life and now a female character on Gossip Girl.

So the poor girl will have a beautiful middle name, but a masculine first name?

I have never known any male Blair’s. Not everyone has the same naming style. Not every little girl needs a frilly, flowery name. I don’t normally like boy’s names on girls, but this seems feminine and pretty to me. Also it is not a boy’s name only. It is unisex.

The name might be unisex, but guess what, the child ISN’T. I can understand Allyson, Hayden, Morgan, Taylor, and Casey, but geez. Blair? No way. But hey, it’s the parents’ choice, in the end, the little girl will be the one to say if it’s a good name or not.

I’ve never met a girl with that name. But that doesn’t even matter because some names might be ’girl’ names, but they still sound masculine no matter what and this is one of them.

Its just like Claire with a B is that masculine too?

I know several Blaires (all girls) and I think the name is absolutely beautiful. It’s just different enough that it’s cool, but it’s not at all weird or masculine. As for that other poster, who names their son Alyson? Wouldn’t that be pretty feminine on a boy?

Casey and Jesse are feminine on a boy too, but people still do it. I’ve actually met a guy named Jesy (yes, with that spelling) before. Such a shame that parents don’t take things like that into account.

Blaire Alexandra, but I also don’t care for the name, for a boy or a girl.
Brenna
Blakelyn
Braelyn

I know quite a few Blaires and they are all male. However, they were all born in the 70s and 80s. So it might be alright now. So many traditionally male names are becoming ’unisex’ because parents like the name for girls. It’s not personally my taste but the only opinions that really matter in the end are the childs and yours.

Blaire Victoria
