John Emerson vs. Emerson John vs. Khoi Leighton

Alright looks like a lot of mommys having boys are on here tonight. I need boy name help. I love Khoi Leighton bc it is orignal and Leighton is from my sister and best friend names . John is my father and our dd was named after dh father. Out older children say name him Khoi or Johnny. We are stuck!

Khoi is a bit strange for my taste. It makes me think koi fish... Khoi Leighton is also so ambigous as to the gender. I like Emerson John a lot. Johnny is nice too, but John on its own is to boring to me. Maybe Johnothan nn Johnny? My choices are Emerson John (if Emerson is not too popular on girls in your area) or Johnathan ’Johnny’ Emerson.

I love John Emerson. It sounds great. I don’t like Emerson as the fn because it is becoming quite unisex. I really don’t like Khoi because it reminds me of the fish, the koi. gL!

Can not use johnathan bc it is the name of only person in my familey that is near my age.

Maybe Johnson or Johnny (I know a few Johnny’s, I love it as a stand alone name!).

You could also try a variant of John, to honor your father in a more creative way and give your son his own individuality at the same time:
