Eibhlin yes vs. no

Hi all (again!) Love this name (was my nan’s name) for a girl but concerned re: pronounciation. It’s pronounced EYE LIN (my nan) or EYE LEEN (her friend!) Would you have got that from on paper? Which pn do you prefer? Thankyou!

No I wouldn’t have been able to prounounce it correctly from the written form. It does sound very pretty though, would you ever consider an alternate spelling:

I would never know how to prn that right from paper. I think if you are going to name your baby that it should at least be after your nan not her friend. What about something similar? Isla, Eileen, or Aisling?

It’s the trad spelling can be pronounced either way...
