I think Marly Jean is adorable.. here is suggestion though, since your name is Lanee, you could name her Marly Denee. [: Assuming it fits with your last name.

I like Marly. It’s cute but not too cute-sy, and not too popular.

There was that book/movie about Marly: The World’s Worst Dog, but people seem to be forgetting about it. Someone might mention it, though.

Now, me personally, I’d probably use a more "formal," fn like Marlene or something a little more creative...Mariel, maybe, and have Marly as the nn.

I just think it’s nice to have options, especially for girls, because it can still be hard for women to be taken seriously in a lot of professions.
