Carolyn (Carly) Michelle vs. which last name

Unfortunately my boyfriend and I have recently broken up. I’m not sure if I should give the baby his last name (Tippens) or my last name (West). Which last name sounds best with Carly? Thank you. And I know this is a weird thing to ask on here but I need help deciding.

I would give your daughter the last name of whoever is going to have primary custody, which I’m assuming is you. They both sound fine with Carly.

I would give your daughter your name..it sounds as though your relationship is not stable enough to keep someone elses name in her life..

Give her your last name. You will be raising her and you don’t know if the father will be in her life.

Remember to still put his name on the birth certificate. He is partially responsible for the child whether he is in your life or not as a partner.

As for the last name, if he is not interested in her then maybe your last name is best. However, if he still is interested in the child, just not in a relationship, then I would use his last since that is more traditional and recognizes his responsibility.
