That’s what middle names are for! Unless you love the name of the person you want to honour, I’d pick a first name that you’ll love no matter how many times you say it. And give them the person’s name as their middle name.

I choose both. Either pick a middle name in honor of someone, or you can honor someone by chosing a name inspired by that person/person’s name.

If you love the name (honoring) use it as the first name and use name you like as the middle name or vice versa if you don’t love your loved one’s name.

depends on what the name is and if you’re using it for first or middle name

also remember that some people don’t actually like their names, so you may not be honoring the person by naming your child after them. find out if the person liked their name

You could always honor them in some other way. Either by using one of their initials and coming up with a name you love, if they had a pretty sounding favorite place to go/city, favorite actor/actress/singer/character, etc. You can be creative about it.
