Doug vs. Douglas

I love the name Doug. I dont like Douglas that much but Im afraid I wont be able to find a middle name to compliment Doug well. Please tell me what you think and suggest middle names for whichever way you choose. Thanks

I think you should still use Douglas. It is more formal, and he could still go by that later on if he wanted. My husband’s name is Douglas John.

My father in law’s name is Roy Douglas but he goes by Doug...

What about considering it as a middle name and thinking of another first name?

I apologise if this sounds offensive but Doug sounds like an older name? Not for a little one.
