suggestions vs. to honor vs. mom

We are thinking about trying for another child soon. My mom is very ill and I would like to honor her if I have another girl. Her name is Ann. The thing is, I honored her with my last daughter’s mn which is Anna. But since it’s only her mn, I’m wondering if it would make sense to name another daughter after her as well, this time as a fn. Another option would be to use a name that she has always wanted me to use but I never have, I feel this would also honor her. I’d like to know what you think and if you have any suggestions for fns to honor Ann. Thanks!

I’m very sorry to hear about your mother. It’s lovely that you want to honor her. Actually in my family, my mother, my sister and I all have the same middle name:Renee. I think if you want to use Ann, that would be perfectly fine. But you could also use the name your mother likes as well. Either way, it would be just fine. Best of luck, and God Bless =)

I think either way would be a lovely way to honor your mother. I don’t think it would be too weird if both daughters have a variation of Ann in their names. What about:

Annabel/Annabelle/Annabella
Aniela
Annmarie
Annika
Anya
Anais (on-a-ees)
Annie
Marianna
Julianna
Susannah
Francesca (has ’An’ in it)
Annabeth

Or it would be just as meanigful if you pick a name your mother and you love too.

I have a friend named Ann. She has three daughters:
Marissa Ann
Ryanna Lynne (rye-anna)
Kayana Rae (kay-ahna)
They did this so each girl would have part of her name in theirs. I also agree with the pp about names with -ann- in them. That would work, too. GL!

Do you like any of these? They have the ’ann’ sound in them?

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I should have added that my two daughters have "boy" names--really they are last names so I didn’t want something too frilly although some of these suggestions are beautiful--just not sure they go with my trend. That said, I have always loved the name Annika and I kinda forgot about it! I think it would go well with my other two. I also love Annabella but I think it would be out of place. Thanks guys...

I like Anneliese alot, considered it before...

Anniston is a very interesting suggestion, you’re right, it would fit in perfectly with my style.

I like the name Honor, but it is a bit too trendy for me and I’m not sure it fits in, but thanks...

Last poster--I like Grace but the others are a bit too unusual for me. Thanks for sharing the meaning of Ann, I didn’t even know so that is something to consider...thanks everybody for your help...
