Violet vs. Violet vs. Violet

Hi, I’m Courtney and I adore a lot of girl names. I grew up the oldest with two little brothers and my Mom so I really would like a girl!!! But I’ll be happy either way. I have played around with my favorite names with family names most are still living to honor them. Some of the names are different and you may not have heard off before. Please don’t pass them up because your not familiar with them. With this poll I am using Violet so please tell me what you think. Violet Ruth is lovely and Violet Josephine or Josephine Violet (Josie!) is another favorite.

I always thought Ev-lin was the male pronunciation (like the author Evelyn Waugh) and ev-eh-lynn was the female pronunciation? Maybe I’m wrong...

I never heard Evelyn on a boy? I’ve always heard it Ev-lyn for a girl never heard it Ev-el-lynn maybe its the part of the country were from:)

i think Evelyn can be ev-lyn, eve-lyn or ev-e-lyn, but i too have never heard it on a boy! hope this helps
