Dianna Rose vs. What do you think?

Hi everyone, I’m having my second child and first daughter. My mother passed away of breast cancer during the early stages of my pregnancy. I really want to name my daughter in her memory. She’d have really loved that. My mother’s name was Diane. I want my daughter to have her own unique name, though. After looking through baby name books, I saw the name Dianna (dee-anna). My husband and I think it’s really pretty. It’s a form of Diana. Do you think it’s too different? Her middle name, Rose, would be after my husband’s mom Rosemary. I’d love to hear what your thoughts are. Thanks :)

Sorry for your loss and I think it’s a beautiful idea. But, if you want it to be dee-anna, I would go with another spelling, everyone will say die-anna. I like Deanna.

When I first saw this it looked like Diana Ross (the singer) and is very close to that but I think it is wonderful and a very honourable thing to do. GL

Oh, I didn’t think it might get pronouced Die-anna. Is Deanna better? I like the look of the the "i" beter than the "e," but I want it to get pronouced correctly. ~Poll Poster

I think it´s a pretty name. I pronounced it Dee-anna because of name Brianna.

When I saw it, I too thought it was Die-anna, so spelling it Deanna would probably help with any misprn. I love the significance of the name and it really is beautiful. GL
