Classic Chris or Alternative vs. Classic Will or Alternative vs. Classic Davey or Alternative

We love the nicknames Chris, Will and Davey. However, we are not sure if we want our son due in July to have the "classic" full name for these nicknames, or an alternative one. The "Classic Chris" is Christopher and the "Alternative Chris" is Christian. The "Classic Will" is William and the "Alternative Will" is Wilson. The "Classic Davey" is David and the "Alternative Davey" is Davis. Please comment to tell us why you voted as you did. He will be joining Hallie Elizabeth (4). Thanks!

I really love William, nn Will- sounds handsome on a little boy and a grown man, plus there are many other nn to go with it- Billy, Liam....

Chris - don’t do Christopher, I think Christopher Robin and every Christopher I’ve met is nerdy, plus it’s such a long name when he’ll be called Chris anyway, go with Christian

Will - William is nice and I like Liam too for a nickname. Wilson I think a volley ball or another type of sports gear.

Davey - David is a great classic but Davis is also great, just a little different and I personally love it so either way!

I would use just Chris for that one. I like William for Will. I have never been a fan of Davey, so I would use Davis, but call him Davis instead. GL!

I don’t think you can go wrong with ’classic,’ especially if the nn is the same.
