Maxwell Augustus vs. Max Anthony vs. Max ?

Follow-up on my post about Max: Maxwell is growing on me, although we could stick with just Max as well. What about a middle name? It needs to start with "A" to honor a grandfather. Thanks for all your help!

I like Maxwell - you can always just call him Max, but then when he gets older he’ll have a more ’professional’ name =) But Max by itself is nice too

I prefer Maxwell over Max - it gives him more options, and flows well with a one syllable last name. Maxwell Augustus is handsome, but I might like Maxwell August West even better. Best of luck!

i like Maxwell Augustus, but Maxwell West doesn’t sound so good. Max is quite common on it’s own though, i think a longer name with the nn Max will work better..

I think Maxwell Augustus is a bit much. Perhaps:

Maxwell August
Maxwell Anthony
Maxwell Aldous
Maxwell Adlai
Maxwell Archer

Other Max options: Maximilian, Maximus, Maxim.

Maxwell West definitely DOESN’T sound good, something I don’t think many people are considering.
I’m also not big on Maxwell, it reminds me of coffee. I like just Max, paired with Augustus or Anthony.
