boy name vs. girl name

I’ve been seeing lots of names that i thought belonged to certain genders being used for the opposite gender. I always thought of the names Hadley, Brighton and Hayden as boy names, but i see a lot of people using them on girls and saying they are more feminine. what do you think? Would it be a bad idea to give boys these names these days because they may get made fun of or confused as a girl?

Hadley is more girly, I think, because of the traditionally feminie -ee sound ending. Brighton and Hayden are more masculine than feminine, in my opinion.

I know a girl named Hadley and a girl named Hayden. I do think of Brighton as a more masculine name. I would say Hayden & Hadley are feminine and would not name a boy those names.

I think it’s fine to give boys those names, lots of boys get unisex names in the top 10 boys, 6 of the names are either unisex or can have a unisex nn.

Hadley is all girl for me. I would never in a million years name a boy that. Hayden can work for either a boy or a girl. Brighton is pretty masculine, so I say it’s a boy name.

Hadley, all girl to me.
Brighton & Hayden are masculine.

Personally, once a name starts getting used for girls I would no longer consider it a name I would use for a boy.
