Check the ss website for actual popularity. I’ve never met an Adelyn. I think its popular on here but not in real-life.

I agree with the first poster, this website is the only place I have actually heard this name.

There are 5 different versions of Adelyn in the top 1000, the highest rating at 351. I’ve just heard a lot of things like "Adelyn is the new Ava." Adelyn did jump dramatically on the charts, but I wonder if it will ever make it in the top 100? I know only one Adilyn.

I love it! but the rankings of it is not that high. And its okay not to call her Addie, I was planning on naming my daughter this and calling her Ada.

Naming my daughter Addilyn Maira nn Addie. But, if you don’t like it, that’s okay. I have never accually met an Adelyn, only Adeline. Don’t really like Adeline either. soo?

Addie is not a bad nn. I just think Addie and Daddy are way to close sounding. Lyn is another idea for nn. But maybe she can just be called Adelyn, with no nn. Not fond of Adeline either.

I used to work with children....I\’d see anywhere from 50-100 every day. I barely ever met an Adelyn, with any spelling. This was in Boston. Where your from may be different.

Well, the rankings aren’t that high now, but it has jumped from nowhere into being a fairly major contendor if you add up the spellings.
It def. has a trajectory similar to Ava, And it is on this site At Least three times a day.

I’d suggest looking at the online nursery for the hospital nearest you.

Of course, popularity doesn’t have to mean you don’t use it.

I still like the name Ava, despite its popularity.

As to the Addie issue, you can certainly insist she not be called any nns, but I do think this is one that people will probably do instinctively.

I guess I think that the combo. of your concerns over its popularity and your concerns over the most logical nn might be good enough reasons to consider something else....I personally Love Adelaide.

But, if Adelyn is the only one you really love, use it. Or...
