Zippora vs. Zipporah

Hi, we’re expecting twin girls in October and and need some advice on their names. We love more uncommon names but nothing made up or too out there. So we have decided on Calypso for one twin and Zippora/h for the other, but we can’t decide on the spelling. I think we slightly prefer Zipporah, but we realized that if we take the h off, both Calypso and Zippora have seven letters, which to us is kind of cute for twins. I know it may seem a little silly, but we would appreciate your opinions on the spelling. Thanks~ Pete and Skye

I feel like you shouldn’t name your daughter after a mythological demon. Just saying...but I prefer the Zippora spellig myself :) gl!

I prefer the more traditional Zipporah spelling; I think it just looks prettier. I would never have caught the 7 letter theme myself, and I think the extra letter is not worth the hassle of constantly correcting the spelling. Is there another way you could tie together the twins’ names? I think Calypso and Zipporah go together beautifully, but if you want an even stronger tie, could you use thematic middle names perhaps?

They are both a bit out there so I wouldnt worry about the spelling people are always going to ask how you spell it anyways so choose what you like.

i love the name Zipporah, i don’t think it matters how many letters their names have, that’s just being too picky imo, Zippora looks incomplete. Calypso and Zipporah go perfectly together
