Magnolia Anne vs. Adelaide Hazel vs. Neither!
We still need help deciding on names for our daughter (I’m due in two months)! Our first daughter’s name is Ruby (mn Alexandra). My husband adores the name Magnolia (nn Maggie/Mags/Noli/or "Lala" as my older daughter says), and while I really like it, I’m afraid of giving our daughter a name so unique that people roll their eyes. I also really like Adelaide (nn Addie)and Hazel, although I’m open to suggestions for a different middle name for either. Please help! Thanks! -Avery

I think Magnolia is lovely. You could even nickname her Lia if you wanted. She has many options if you name her Magnolia, but there will be so many girls her age with names like Ava, Addison... Adelaide is not a far cry from those. I think Magnolia Anne OR Magnolia Hazel is exceptional.

Adelaide is lovely and so is Hazel. Either would be a great first name. Magnolia is okay and not too unusual, especially with all the nn options.

My one year old daughter is Adelaide!! We don’t call her Addie because we feel everyone will assume her name is Addison, which today is common. We chose this name because we wanted something vintage and beautiful so we usually just call her Adelaide but sometimes we use Della as her nn. Good luck!!
