i think SOME names are great, but i would never name a baby after "the place he/she was conceived" or something ridiculous like that... and also, if it’s not a NAME at all, like FLORIDA or GERMANY, it’s a NO...

from your list, i love Austin, Dallas, Madison, Cheyenne and Paris.
i hate MONTANA and GEORGIA...
i guess Houston is OK

also, LONDON is a pretty name...

Hundreds of parents name their kids after locations, but none really appeal to me. I don’t see anything wrong with a "conceived" name. I read a post on here where a mom wanted Italian names because their dd was conceived on a Euro trip. Kinda cute & fun, certainly not scandalous or tacky as the pp seems to imply.

Austin is not only a city name, it’s a very old "real" name. My father, grandfather and great granfather were all named Austin and it’s used as a middle name all through my family. None of us have ever lived in or had anything to do with Austin, Texas.

Nope, not Tarpon (although I lived there for a few months) and not Brandon. (I’m from FL)
I don’t really want to give it out on here because it’s a great name and it would spread like wildfire on here. It’s very unique and I want it to stay that way in case we have a boy.

well i think children named after cities are adorable my daughter is daytona madison.. I LOVE IT!! and i have a friend who named their son memphis.. love phoenix and cali the list could go on!! good luck
