Caroline Grace vs. Madeline Claire vs. Too Close for Twins?

We are expecting twin girls in six weeks! We love these names, but have recently been wondering if they are too close for twins? Caroline would be pronounced Cara-LINE and Madeline would be pronounced Mad-uh-LYN, but we like these spellings. Should we change Madeline to Madelyn? Thanks for your help!

I love the names. But yes, I think you should change Madeline to Madelyn. For pronunciation reasons. But I like Madelyn better, my opinion.

Caroline Grace & Madelyn Claire are beautiful!!!

I like Madelyn too, it’s my neices name. In fact her name is Madelyn Claire. An alternative might be Madelynn.

Yeah, I would change Madeline to Madelyn. That will be easier when people say their names together.

I suggest changing the spelling to Madeleine. This is the most authentic spelling to get the pronunciation Mad-uh-lyn. Madeline should be pronounced Mad-uh-LINE to rhyme with Caroline. Remember the line from the book?

"In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines,
lived twelve little girls in two straight lines
They left the house, at half past nine...
The smallest one was Madeline."

Madelyn just looks a little too down market with Caroline in my opinion.

But Caroline and Madeleine are GORGEOUS, classic names, that go together perfectly for twin girls!!

Good luck!

Both names are gorgeous! But I would change Madeleine to Madelyn or else she will be called Mad-eh-line her whole life, and I don’t think she’d appreciate it.
