I voted for Skyler, but actually, my favorite spelling of the name pronounced "Sky-ler" is Schulyer, the origianl, Dutch form. Schulyer looks classier than the phonetic Skyler. Schulyer needs a classic or offbeat middle, here are a few suggestions:

Any one of these would make me think "oh, moneyed preppy chick. Skyer makes me think low-income barely phonetic mommy. Hate to say it but it’s true, and I know for a fact I am not the only one who will judge you and your child based on their names. It’s just a thing people do. I just wanted to point this out, so you’re not dismayed and upset ’after’ she’s born!

Skylar is very pretty for a little girl. I do know a couple of Schulyer’s but it looks awkward to me and makes me think of school.

Honestly, I really only like the name for a boy, and I’d spell it Schuyler, which is the correct way to spell it. If you are going to use it on a girl, I’d go with Skylar because it seems to feminize it a bit. (I don’t mean to sound negative. I’m just one of those people who hates when people start giving their girls all the good boy names.) I agree that this needs a sophisticated and decidedly feminine name in the middle. Skylar Elizabeth or something of that nature would work nicely. Good luck.

I am also naming my baby Skylar and I don’t want her name to sound like some rich snob. My family is really well off and I don’t think Skylar will be thought less of because she has a more unique and less snobby sounding name. (That comment was a little offensive!) Skyler or Skylar is a beautiful name I obviously like Skylar personally. As far as middle names go I don’t want to share mine per say it is special to me but I will give you some that I liked:

The middle name is a hard one but since Skylar is usually used for either gender my suggestion would be to try to make the middle name more feminine for your baby girl.

OMG!!! I was going to go for that name too, except that I was going to put Skyler Breanne. i am shocked that yours was very similliar!!! lol Well I say go for what you like, who cares what others think. Its better than some of the suggestions that i see.

My girls name is Skyler grey love it

We live in the Netherlands and named our daughter Skylar Yasmin. Who cares what other people think. We think it is a strong and unique name, especially in our country. I don’t think you should ask for advise.

I really like the name Skyler because the way it is spelled and both Skyler and Skylar are really pretty names but I did a test on people how to pronounce both names and I feel bad because people kept pronouncing Skylar as Sky l ar but both are beautiful.

Skyler is for boys while Skylar is for girls.
