Boys Names vs. Help!

Does anyone else have a really hard time picking out boys names?? I haven’t found one that I’m in love with except Liam and that is SO common. We have an English/Scottish last name so I’d like to stay with that. Please help! Thank you!

Boys just don’t get as many fun names as girls do.

Can you give us a hint? Are you going for English/Scotish names? Do you like old fashioned? Funky? Strong? Soft?

If you LOVE Liam, then I am guessing you might like softer names like:

Bram
Noah
Elijah
Samuel

It’s terribly hard, partly because the minute you pick one, some momeigh on here posts that she’s sticking it on a girl!

Have you checked the stats on Liam? I really don’t know many personally.
Our oldest is a Jack, which is very popular, but he’s yet to have another in his class, and when he meet other Jacks he just think it’s funny.

Let’s see....

Eamon (ay-mun)
Leo
Theo
Arlo
Malcolm nn Mac
Corbin
Corwin
Cormac
Dashiell nn Dash
Russell
Marshall
Mitchell
Anders
Drew

Another thought is to name him William and use Liam as his nn. If it really seemed like he was one of several Liams everywhere, he could choose to go by William or Will or Wills or Billy, instead.

Finally, if you use something classic, like Thomas, or Sean, or John, even if it’s popular it never sounds trendy or silly.

Liam by itself is actually not too common, it was #49 in US births in 2009, maybe higher in 2010. Others to consider:

Owen
Thomas
Ian
Tristan
Parker
Nolan
Seth
Grant
Leo
Spencer
Harrison
Graham
Reid
Everett
Abel
Finn
