Blake, Taylor, Drew, Charlie, Morgan, Alex,

I don’t like Madison for a girl!

I’d never use one.

I quite like Elliot and Cameron, but thats because i’m quite a big fan of Scrubs and House. I think i prefer Elliot though. I would use Elliot on a boy and would go with Carmen instead of Cameron for my own child though.

I hate Ryan, Caleb, Ezra ect. These are NOT unisex, they are boy’s name on girls, because there is no doubt that they are boys names. Even the one’s I don’t mind are boys names, I just associate them with girls.

People say that names don’t have genders and point out that things change over time, which is true. But all these really masculine names are suddenly being put on girls. Things may change, but not all at once!

Boys names on girls is cute - there are no such thing as specific gender names. But if some one wants a boy named Jayne because they think its masculine or has a good meaning then they can’t? Although the only person i know of with the name Jayne is on a TV program and is male.

My exception is Noa and Noah, they are different names, fact.

I personally love unisex names. I like boy names on girls with a really girly middle name. There are more than you think out there.....like Ashley Dana Leslie etc...new ones I love are Sawyer harper Elliott Charlee Dylan etc.... it annoys me when ppl say boy name girl name blah blah blah many can be used both ways and I think are really super cute

I like boys names on girls and unisex names and very feminine names, too. I just happen to like the unisex names and boys names on girls more and so does my husband. Sue me, its my taste and I can’t help what I like just as much as you can’t. I certainly would not name my son something that could ever make him mistaken for a girl, even if it is "technically a boys name".

7th poster, Ryan is in fact a unisex name. Yes, definitely more commonly used on boys but if you look it up, anywhere, any website, any book its unisex.

I also have to agree with you, poster 7, Cameron and Elliot are my two favorite boys names on girls as well.

This is a very controversial topic now a days because more and more people are choosing "boys names" for their daughters making them gender neutral. A lot of Mothers have sons with these names and/or are pregnant considering these names for their sons so it makes them mad. And rightfully so. There are only so many boys names as it is. But we live in a very judgmental world. A lot of people believe if I name my daughter Ryan and shes going out to be a lawyer, they may call her for the interview because they think shes a man and she therefore nails the job. Where as if her name was Anabel, they might of never called her.

Who knows if this will ever be excepted by everyone else. I highly doubt it. I’m sure years ago Moms of sons named Shannon, Lesley, and Sidney were also upset people were using "boys names on girls".

It is what it is...
