FN Malcolm vs. nerdy vs. handsome
My husband loves the name Malcolm for our son. His name would be Malcolm Alexander L___ (3 syllables, ends in long E sound). I’m on the fence because I think Malcolm’s kind of a nerdy name. Yes, I know there are some great men with this name (DH constantly reminds me that Malcolm X was NOT nerdy), but I’m not sold. So, what are your thoughts?

I personally think its handsome but if you still don’t like it I think its best to find a name you both love.

I definiftely think it is nerdy despite the Malcolm X idea. Some names just give off a nerdy vibe. For instance, Nelson is another name I have always thought was nerdy, and even though there is Nelson Mandela, I still think it sounds nerdy.

It is a bit nerdy, but if you don’t like the name, maybe you could use Malcolm for a middle name, and come up with a name you both like

I love Malcolm. Definitely handsome. Maybe it will grow on you, if not hopefully you find another name you both like.
